Link to History:
Triskelion is a homebrewed D&D world that is similar to standard D&D settings. Oleandra (real name Lilith du Driscoll) comes from the desert country Tellera, a country with a tense relationship with the rest of the world due to their lax laws on slave trade and other barbaric practices. Tellera is ruled by a plutocratic council called "The Patriarchs". Oleandra's father is a Patriarch, so she grew up very wealthy. However, she is also the only tiefling in an elf family -- an occurrence that she does not know the truth behind -- and for that she was ostracized and hidden away. This caused her to act out to get attention, which made things worse. She frequently snuck out at night as a teen, participating in fight clubs and betting rings, amongst other salacious activities. Although not everyone was aware of her identity, there began to be whispers in the streets of the family's secret daughter, one that was a monster in her own right. She took rather gleefully to taking the pain she felt in her loneliness out on others.

Although Oleandra is still not considered an "adult" by elves, her parents were keen to get rid of her. They arranged a marriage to a noble in another country, hoping to strengthen their financial ties. However, getting married was the last thing she wanted, and in retaliation she set fire to the family home and caused a great deal of public destruction. In the process of her rage, part of the floor beneath her collapsed, and she saw something horrifying in the basement -- human sacrifice, at the behest of something evil -- before passing out.

As punishment, she was sent forcibly to another country to chase a target that the assassins working for the Patriarchs had so far been unable to take out. This target was a former slave who had escaped, and that turned him into a symbol for the brewing abolitionist movement. Time was of the essence.

However, Oleandra saw a sliver of hope. This mysterious person could perhaps help her bring her parents -- and whatever horrors they were participating in, likely in a quest for more power -- to an end. She might even be able to help free the slaves with his help. But she certainly couldn't do it alone, so she pretended to go along with the plan.

She was given a fake identity (Oleandra Mercier) to assume in the process of getting closer to the target, and sent to a school for adventurers where Reeve was attending. She was to either kill him herself, or assist in future endeavors to capture him to get around the security at Brightstone.

Upon being sent there, she was branded with a tracking glyph to track her movements, and has been reporting back. She continues to play the double agent role as best she can for now.

Canon Point: 4 months after her arrival at Brightstone, a few weeks after being finally assigned to Reeve's cohort

❥ Folkmore Roles & Attributes

Skills:  Lying/bullshitting, punching people, drinking/imbibing, gambling, sex, writing poetry, making coffee, shopping
Canon Abilities: Oleandra is a bardbarian, meaning she has a little bit of something from both the barbarian and the bard classes. Specifically, she is level 5 barbarian and level 7 bard. The full notes for each of her specific subclasses can be found here: Barbarian (Path of Wild Magic) | Bard (College of Swords)

Her character sheet, which gets into her learned spells and other details, can be found here. A brief summary of both classes is that she can either go into a rage (which halves any piercing/bludgeoning/slashing damage) with a random magical effect (see the Wild Magic Table on the Barbarian link above), or she can cast some pretty nasty spells. She cannot use spells while raging.
A summary of each of the spells she knows are as follows:

  • Mending - Fix a tear/rip/break in an object no larger than 1ft in any dimension.

  • Prestidigitation - Create a small sensory effect (sparkles, a puff, a small sound, applying a color to a small spot, a faint smell, etc). Can also be used to clean dirt off a small object or chill/warm a small object.

  • Thaumaturgy - Similar to Prestidigitation, but more focused on making sound louder and tremors.

  • Vicious Mockery - Hurt someone with psychic damage with an insult.

  • Disguise Self - Change your appearance with an illusion to another similarly-sized humanoid for 1 hour.

  • Dissonant Whispers - Whisper a tune that gives other people a really bad headache (psychic damage), with a chance to force them to run away from you.

  • Silvery Barbs - Create a distraction for one creature to apply an advantage to another.

  • Tasha's Hideous Laughter - Make a creature perceive everything as hilarious and be unable to stop laughing until they succeed on a saving throw.

  • Darkness - Create a dome of magical darkness that can't be seen through.

  • Hellish Rebuke - When hit, you can immediately retaliate with a fiery blast.
  •
  • Kinetic Jaunt - Run faster and move through anyone in your way for 1 minute.

  • Knock - Unlock any mundane lock, or suppress arcane locks for 10 mins (makes a super loud noise)

  • Shatter - A loud noise causes any creature in a 10ft radius to take thunder damage.

  • Bestow Curse - For 1 minute, the target has disadvantage on checks and saves made with a specific ability score, disadvantage on attacking you, and your attacks have extra necrotic damage added.

  • Enemies Abound - Force an enemy to be unable to distinguish between friend and foe, causing them to potentially attack their allies.

  • Stinking Cloud - A 20 foot radius cloud of poisonous gas makes everyone in it want to throw up until it gets dispersed.

Role: Legend
Role Qualities/Attributes: I think it would be very funny if she manifested a halo when she did a good deed, that would start to stick around the more she does it.
Role Reasoning: Oleandra has spent a pretty large portion of her life being a terrible person, in large part to do with the toxic environment in which she grew up, and has only recently tried to turn a corner and do something good with her life. I think it'll be fun to play with the idea that here, "living up to her potential" means becoming someone who does good and allows herself to care for others, and her slowly coming to accept that she is capable of such things. She also suits some parts of the description of Legend (high tolerance for pain, strength and durability ... and also tends to get overtaken by emotion from time to time), so I think it makes sense for it to be almost aspirational in nature for her to rise to meet the rest of it.
